I’m an illustrator, designer, comic artist and writer living in Bristol.
I co-founded Gurr Illustration in 2007.
My current projects include St. Vincent’s Rock, the Ort wordless comics, and a series of graphic adaptations of the songs of Georges Brassens.
I’m interested in the capacity of drawing to communicate information and emotion. My narrative work is informed by experience in UI design, game development and pre-production.
I’ve illustrated over 70 books and co-created with Eugene Byrne several book-length comics. Darwin: a graphic biography has been published in translation around the world.
As a speaker I’ve created and presented talks and workshops in schools, bookshops, libraries and prison.
Some of my most fruitful projects have been private commissions, which I still do when time allows.
